A tall castle in the deep, snowy mountains. It has a shorter keep and the walls are medium sized. VIllages of slaves surround the castle and paths were carved through the castle for trade and ox wagons. Medium buildings were built inside the inner keep from the old king.
The ground seemed to rise as if it was a phoenix rising from the ashes where the castle sat. The stone walls were raised higher and sturdier as if to peak through the clouds with the backs of many slaves' sweat. Barbicans with a curtain wall were placed in strategic locations in front of the stone wall protecting the neck. Archer towers soar high in the sky with hordes made of fresh animal skins. Soldiers could be seen walking the battlements back and forth from the distance viewing Darkshore. Flanking towers held a single portcullis, which guards in the guardroom above would control, in two entrances to the inner port city. One connected with one of the barbicans which led to the Road of Gisela where the companions were hiding to the border and the other on the backside of the port city where a postern gate led to the countryside for hunters of the inhabitants. The keep was well guarded
Forest buried on the border of Valderon and Ratte. It has many trees with squirells and deer. Deep roots are buried in the ground from the tall stout trees. A path is carved in the ground that runs in the middle to Kirceon of Ratte and to the upper lands. Scattered creeks are throughout the forest.
Middle sized castle with villages of elf slaves scattered around the castle to feed the soldiers. The castle has storage buildings built by the backs of the slaves. The store buildings contains lots of ammo and information for the evil forces. A separate building contains the barracks where the soldiers sleep. The inner keep in the center of the castle has wooden stairs leading up to it for the chambers of the evil Order.
This city mixture of both, magic and beauty. The legendary creatures like unicorns, flying lizards and others contributed to the enchanted and vibrant paranormal atmosphere. A beautiful golden shine was almost everywhere. Voice of crackling can be heard of fireworks when wizards fly around practicing their magic. Hilly lands and beautiful vast valleys surrounded it. It was a mysterious yet beautiful city where architecture was dominated by stony structures and bright, magical accents that sparkled in the air and were inspired by their beauty.
Uldaman was a small village compared to most. The people were mostly a crew made up of farmers and fishers of the sea and land. The villagers were social people to travelers, but very protective of their traditions and homes. The houses were made up of stone for protection against the weather; sturdiness, so they would last. Bridges were made across the streams connecting each hut. Small streams ran throughout the village where the villagers had small docks.
As they approached the lake, the landscape opened before them, revealing its serene beauty. The water stretched out like a liquid mirror, reflecting the endless blue sky and the surrounding forest. Waves lapped gently at the shore, creating a melody of peace that was both soothing and surreal.
Filling their canteens and replenishing supplies, the companions took a moment to rest and marvel at the lake’s tranquility. But as they ventured closer to the far side, they began to notice signs of habitation. Huts dotted the shoreline, and figures moved among them, their silhouettes becoming clearer with each step.
Andrels’ home was modest yet inviting, a testament to his industrious nature. Nestled into the crest of a hill near a forest, it bore the wear of years yet retained its charm. The aged wood of the house showed signs of weathering, but the structure stood strong. A small pond lay to the northeast, complete with a fishing pier and a water collection system for the forge. To the southwest stood a massive stone forge with a reservoir for cooling metalwork.
The house itself exuded warmth, with a sturdy chimney and an extended porch outfitted with a rocking chair and side table, perfect for watching the rolling hills. The forest, a natural shield, provided both fuel for the forge and a sense of seclusion. Andrels had also constructed a small animal house and a shed for his wagon and oxen in the north corner of the property.
Before them stood two towering statues, positioned on either side of the flat stone floor. The ceiling above stretched so high it disappeared into shadow. The statues appeared to belong to an older age, carved with a precision and detail lost to modern craftsmen. One depicted a broad, muscular man clad in armor, holding a lantern. The other statue showed a figure wrapped in a flowing cloak, clutching a candle. A wave of déjà vu struck Daniel, as if he had seen these figures before—in a dream.
A faint lavender scent hung in the air, filling the chamber and seeming to invigorate the weary travelers. The companions felt a renewed sense of energy and hope, as though the fragrance itself were a gift from the temple’s ancient creators. Cold, abandoned braziers rested at the base of each statue, their neglect betraying the passage of many sunrises. The tomb was unlike anything they had ever seen.
It was constructed from marble so pristine and polished that it gleamed as if infused with sunlight. Its white surface shimmered, reflecting the brazier’s flickering flames. On the top of the tomb lay an engraved image of a figure holding a sword. Along its side, an ominous inscription was etched into the stone:
“Here lies Hope of Old that Paid the Ultimate Price.
Whoever Disturbs this Hope will Die a Painful Death.”
